This course runs for 12 hours over three consecutive weeks (4 hours per week) During this time Brian will demonstrate how to produce the main body of the teapot as well as the individual elements (spout, handle, lid) You will then spend time assembling these pieces together to reach your final teapot resolution. You will work with stoneware clay and have the opportunity (if you choose) to explore decoration in the form of slip colour. Once you have created your work you will be able to choose a final glaze colour. After the session your work will be left to dry and go through its bisque firing. It will then be glazed and have its final firing. Your work will be ready to collect after 5 - 6 weeks. Schedule: Week 1 - Producing the core elements of the teapot. Week 2 - Turning individual elements and assemblage Week 3 - Decorative methods/ throwing practice of teapot components.
