MAKE was created by Liz Hammond who has a BA and MA in Art and Design. During her degrees Liz explored a variety of different media including glass, printmaking, ceramics and textiles.
After her MA Liz qualified as a lecturer in the further and higher education sectors. It was during this time that Liz started working with the versatile material of clay. Liz has a wealth of knowledge in all forms of clay production including throwing, hand-building, mould-making and glazing.
Liz has been teaching for over 10 years and in this time has taught on a variety of art and design courses at further and higher education institutions in the UK. These have included The City and Guilds of London Art School, The Interactive Design Institute and Bristol School of Art.
Liz has a great interest in the use of craft as an art and design practice. Combining old and new techniques to explore different subject matter, creating experimental and interesting work.
