Service Description
Join 'The Great Pottery Throwdown' 2024 Finalist, David Short, for a creative workshop in Storytelling, through the production of ceramic tiles. During this 2 hour workshop students will learn how to carve, imprint and use Sgraffito techniques to create their own illustrative scene on clay tiles. You may choose to create one large tile or work across a series of multiples. For this session we ask learners to bring a piece of subject matter with them such as a photograph or a drawing. After you have finished producing your work it will be left to dry slowly and undergo its first firing. We will then place them in a transparent glaze and fire them again. Your pieces will be ready to collect after 6 weeks. Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided. Due to the unpredictable nature of ceramics, occasionally pieces can get stuck during the glaze firing. This is out of our control, refunds will not be given.
